Tecno Fidta 2026 Officially Opens

The second day of the International Food Technology, Additives and Ingredients Trade Fair once again brought together professionals, business leaders, specialists, researchers, institutions and organizations with a common goal: to promote a more efficient, sustainable industry prepared for future challenges.

In this spirit, the official opening ceremony of the exhibition was held with the participation of national and industry representatives. During the ceremony, Fernando Gorbarán, President and CEO of Messe Frankfurt Argentina, stated: “Tecno Fidta is part of Messe Frankfurt’s global family, which includes four specialized exhibitions across four continents. We closely follow the dynamic growth of the food technology industry and the transformation of food processing worldwide. What is happening in these halls today is a clear reflection of that transformation, with digitalization, automation, artificial intelligence, traceability and new consumer demands redefining the way we produce, process and distribute food.”

Likewise, Elio del Re, President of the Argentine Association of Metallurgical Industries (ADIMRA), highlighted the export potential of the food industry: “We are moving toward the second industrial transformation of the sector, driven by the machinery showcased here at Tecno Fidta. The future is promising. We are proud to continue supporting its development and international integration. That is the major challenge ahead, and we have the capabilities to achieve it.”

The academic program continued on Wednesday with activities aimed at industry professionals. One of the highlights was the 7th Food Conference, held under the theme“From Science to Consumers: Digital Technologies and Innovative Processes for Safer and Higher-Quality Foods.” Organized in partnership with Red Alimentaria, GS1 Argentina, INTI and INTA, the conference was certified under the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.

Throughout its three sessions, participants discussed the benefits of migrating to QR code technology, the impact of artificial intelligence on intensive food production, irradiation technologies (X-ray and gamma), the application of gamma irradiation in meat products and its impact on food safety and stability, new challenges in allergen management and risk control in real production environments, as well as primary production, regulatory controls and food service operations.

The 1st Live Maintenance Conference, organized by the International Institute of All-Natural Refrigeration (IIAR) Southern Regional Chapter, also took place. The program featured theoretical and practical demonstrations designed to provide tools and knowledge for both end users and technicians working daily in refrigeration machine rooms.

During the Exhibitor’s Conferences, Julieta Dellepiane, General Manager of Del Plast, and Eng. Ayelén Felice, Production and Quality Manager, presented “From Complaint to Solution,” a case study describing the development journey of a solution that is now used across the industry. Later, Francisco Della Vecchia from Grupo IFES delivered the presentation “Solar Energy for the Food Industry: Myths, Realities and Return on Investment.”

This Thursday, the program continues with the 22nd Industrial Refrigeration Conference, also organized together with Red Alimentaria, as well as additional Exhibitor’s Conferences. In parallel, the second edition of the World Meat Championship (CMDC®) will take place, co-organized by Dr. Luis Barcos, Messe Frankfurt Argentina and AmeriCarne.
